Q: What is a Kajeet?
A: A Kajeet is a mobile internet hotspot.
Q: How do students get a Kajeet?
A: Students may get a Kajeet request form from the librarian at their school. The form requires Parent/Guardian signature. Once a completed form is collected, the student is considered approved and a Kajeet may be checked out depending on availability.

A: The Kajeets have a 500MB per day limit.
Q: How long is the checkout period for a Kajeet?
A: Kajeets can be checked out for a month at a time. To renew a Kajeet, the student will need to bring the Kajeet, charger, and case to the school library for renewal. It can be renewed as many times as necessary, as long as the Kajeet is being used. ALL Kajeets are due near the end of the school year.
Q: If a student transfers from one SPS location do another, do they keep the Kajeet?
A: Like the Chromebooks, students need to turn in the Kajeet at the first school and apply for another if needed at the new school.
Q: The Kajeet we checked out is not working. What do I do?
A: The student may return the Kajeet to the librarian, who can place a work order for IT to repair or replace the Kajeet (dependent on availability).
Q: Why can’t I use my Kajeet from 1AM-6AM?
A. Kajeet policy blocks internet access during this time period.
Q: My student checked out a Kajeet but has lost it. What do we need to do?
A: The student may report the Kajeet as missing to the school librarian. The librarian will mark it missing in the library system, and IT will disable the Kajeet. The fee for lost/stolen Kajeets is $150.
Q: My student has lost the case or charger for the Kajeet. How do we get a replacement?
A: The student may request a new case or charger through the school librarian. Fees assessed are the same as chargers and cases for Chromebooks.
