Gizmos is a resource used in the Launch science courses to complete online laboratory simulations. At the start of the term, you will be responsible for setting up the Gizmos Assignment List for your sections. 

Click the Gizmos Login link from the first module of one of your science courses. This will automatically log you in to Gizmos through Canvas.

Once you are logged in, view the List of Gizmos Assignments by Course below. Click a course link to take you to the master assignment list for that specific course.

Click the Import Gizmo Lists to Classes [1] link then click the Sections [2] that matches the master list you are working from to copy all of the assignments from the master to your live section.

You will see a confirmation that the Gizmos assignments were added to the chosen section:

Setup your Gizmos account

  • If you have taught for Launch previously, your Gizmos account should be linked to your Canvas account.

  • If you have not taught for Launch previously, you may be prompted to setup your Gizmos account. Please use your Launch/SPS email (@spsmail.org) to create this account. If you receive an error that an account already exists, use the reset password button to reset your password.

To access Gizmos, click the link in the “Start Here: Course Resources” module.

You will see your courses on the right hand side and the Gizmos link on the left side. You can also use the search bar at the top to find Gizmo interactives.
