The elementary homeroom course is built to be easily navigable for our youngest learners.
Homeroom Buttons
...
The main section of the homepage includes four voyage buttons. In the homeroom classroom, a voyage is a day of content. In previous years, the word mission was used to describe a day of content - now the word mission is only used in association with Zearn. The total number of voyages should match the number of days in the quarter.

The Submission Help button links to a Canvas Submission Help module. In this module, there are several pages that provide information to guide students through submitting an assignment. Teachers can direct students to this module, or students can navigate themselves if they need assistance. Submission help is provided for Google Slides, student annotations, Google Docs, quizzes, media recordings, text entries, and discussion boards.
The Online Locker button links to the online locker course. The online locker includes direct links to resources like Dreambox, Reading Plus, Raz-Plus, and more. This is not available for content courses.

Navigating to Your Lesson
Each day, a student will navigate to the correct voyage with the guidance of their teacher. Teachers may use their pacing guide to ensure they are guiding students to the correct day (for example, Day 10 = Voyage 10). A student will first click on the range of voyages on the homepage, then they will navigate to the specific voyage for that day.
...
When a student clicks on the voyage for their day, they will be directed to their Start Here page for the day. Students will use the button located at the bottom of the page to move through their lessons for the day.
...
At the end of the day, you will reach the Voyage Complete page. At the bottom of this page, you can use the Back button to navigate to the homepage of the course.

Using the Tracker
The elementary course includes a tracker at the top of each lesson. This tracker can be used as a guide to help students navigate to lessons around the course. The first bubble of the tracker is always the Start Here page, and the last bubble of the tracker is always the Voyage Complete page.
By hovering over any item in the tracker, you can see the title of the page.
...
The order of the items in the tracker follows the order of the items in that module. If you would like your students to move to a particular lesson in the day without clicking through the module, encourage them to use the tracker to navigate to the correct page.
