Before going out to Tynker, take note of what Tynker lesson you need to complete.

The first time you click a Tynker link from an assignment, you may be prompted to authorize your account.
Click the Authorize button.

Click on My Classes from the left navigation menu.

A list of your course lessons lesson groups will show, scroll . Scroll until you find the lesson group with the same title from the Canvas assignment.

  • Start by finding the name of the lesson group. JavaScript 101 in this example.

Click the Start button.

A list of that lesson’s assignments will show. Scroll until you find the assignment with the same title from the Canvas assignment.

Click the Start button on an activity to begin the lesson.

When you are complete, remember to submit a screenshot to the Canvas assignment.

All projects shared in Tynker are only viewable if you are logged in.

Go to My Classes.

Click on the icon in the top left corner and choose School.

Choose your class from the list.Scroll down

to the Class Showcase.Choose Showcase from the menu across the top.

Switching Back to “Classic” Dashboard

If you’ve opted in to the new Tynker Dashboard, your submission screenshot may not be exactly what your teacher needs to grade your assignment(s). Let’s switch back to the “Classic” Dashboard!

Click the dropdown menu in the upper right corner.

From the dropdown menu, choose Preferences.

From the Preferences menu, choose Back to Classic.

Note: If the option is unavailable, try this link while logged in to Tynker.

Click the dropdown menu in the upper right corner (again).

From the dropdown menu, choose Preferences (again).

From the “Classic” Preferences menu, choose View Your Dashboard.

You should be back to the “Classic” Dashboard. Every time you log back in to Tynker, you will now have the “Classic” Dashboard.

Note: If you are missing the “My Classes” button in the “Classic” Dashboard, close Tynker and reopen it from your Canvas course AFTER following the steps above to switch your Dashboard.
