Using the Whiteboard Tool - Number Lines
The Whiteboard Tool is a resource located within Discovery Education that allows you to write on a virtual whiteboard. This means you can write with a marker, draw and label shapes, create lines, insert pictures, and create and mark-up graphs.
Use this tutorial when creating a number line (graphing inequalities).
Setting up the Number Line
Open the Whiteboard Tool.
Add a number line background.
Select the down arrow next to the Add Background button.
Choose Number Line from -10 to 10 from the dropdown menu.
A number line will appear as the background of your whiteboard.
Drawing Arrows and Lines
Select the down arrow next to the Line Tool.
Choose either Line
or Arrow Line
from the dropdown menu,
depending on your inequality.Click and drag to create (draw) the line on your number line.
Creating Open and Closed Circles
Select the down arrow next to the Shapes Tool.
Choose the Circle
shape from the dropdown menu.
Open circles will have No Fill Color.
Closed circles will have Fill Color.
Click and drag to create (draw) the circle on your number line.
