The way StudySync syncs assignments to students is based upon teacher login. If there are late adds enrollments added to the course (after the class has started - and after the initial StudySync setup), StudySync relies on a teacher logging in to the software. Once the teacher logs in to into StudySync and goes to their Dashboard, all course assignments (for all registered coursesof their sections) sync to any new student(s) in the course(s).

This guide will direct you on how to perform essential tasks in StudySync:

Grading StudySync

Once you have assigned the everything in StudySync Assignments and students have completed themstarted completing assignments, you will need to be able to grade StudySync assignments.
Once in your Launch course, navigate to the "ConnectED" Button

This will take you to your StudySync Dashboard.

Click on Assignments

Then click on the orange title link for the assignment you have assigned to students to open the assignment report for that assignment.

Then you You will see a list of the students who have received the assignment, as well as an indication of who has and has not completed the assignment.

Click on the orange linked date next to the student's name and then you will see all the completed work for that selected student.

This will take you to the Student ReposenseResponses where you can see both the prompt and below the student's response.

On the right side of the page, you can complete My Review where you can leave your own written feedback and score based on the rubric.

When giving a rubric score, hover over the score boxes to see a definition of that score.

You also have the option to annotate on the student's essay, just like as if you were writing on the student's work with a red pen. Click Annotation, then highlight the text you want to annotate and it will give you an option to leave a comment.

If you want to view all the annotations you have written then , click View All at the top.

Once you select the score you want to give to assign the student 's work and given written feedback, you can click Save Review.

StudySync will then give you the option to Return to list of students assigned to that assignments. Or you can choose the Next un-reviewed student responseStudent Response to go to the next student's assignment submission that needs grading.

When you return to the student report you will see that it shows a grade in the My Review column for the graded student's assignment.

If you need to update a grade on a student simply click on the linked date to take you back to the students work then make any changes and click save review, updated changes will then show in MyStudent Report

Navigating StudySync

See below for a step-by-step instruction that outlines how to navigate StudySync.

Once in your Launch course navigate to the "ConnectED" Button

Next Click on the top box, StudySync Teacher Edition

Then click on "Launch StudySync" button

This will take you to your StudySync Dashboard. You will see 4 options at the top, I have highlighted these options in blue below:

The first tab is titled, Users. There you will see a list of all of the classes you teach that have StudySync availability.

You can click on the toggle wheel to the right, where you will see the following options.

Choose the following from the drop-down menu:

  1. Assignments for the list of all StudySync assignments that have been assigned to the class you have chosen.

  2. Standard Reports for a list of Core standards that each assignment consists of.

  3. Users for a list of all users in the class. This is especially handy when you need to make sure that a student is enrolled in StudySync.

  4. Gradebook for an overview of what assignments students have completed.

The next tab at the top is the Assignments tab. This feature allows you to see all the individual StudySyncs that have been assigned to each class that you have.

You can also choose how far you would like to go back to look at your assignments.

StudySync also provides a drop-down menu for each assignment given.

Choose the following from the drop-down menu.

  1. Assignment report: will tell you both which student's assignments need to be graded, as well as which students have submitted their StudySync.

  2. Preview the assignment and all the options you chose for student learning.

  3. Edit assignment which will allow you to make changes to the assigned StudySync.

  4. Use for new Assignment which will allow you to assign the StudySync to a different class.

The next tab at the top is the Library option.

Choose from the following options offered to the right of the screen.

Standards enable you to search for assignments by the Core standard that you want to teach your students.

Units allow you to choose a novel and then receive a multitude of articles, excerpts and lesson plans that complement the work you are teaching.

The following items are all components offered under the Units tab.

An Overview and introduction to the novel.

Instructional Path gives suggestions of short readings that correlate with the theme, time period and historical significance of the novel. There are suggestions that go along with each chapter of the novel.

The Reading Guide provides detailed notes, lesson plans for the unit for teachers. This selection also offers printable worksheets over each chapter of the novel. Key ideas, vocabulary and reading questions are provided as well.

The next tab selection within the Library is the Skill tab. This tab allows you to choose StudySync assignments over the skills you choose for your class to learn about.

Texts offer the option to choose from various grade-appropriate texts that you would like to introduce your class to.

StudySync will provide an introduction to the work, information about the author, vocabulary, and assignments to complete over the reading provided.

The Core ELA tab which allows teachers to choose from units developed by StudySync. This tab also provides resources for Core Program Guide, ELA Scope and Sequence and Grade Level Overview.
