Launch foreign language courses will require you to type in languages other than English. Follow the steps below to add another language keyboard to a Chromebook.
Login to your account on the Chromebook.
In the lower left corner, click options shelf.
When the menu load, select the settings gear.
Click on Advanced on the left side menu.
Click on Languages and Inputs on the left side menu.
Click the option at the top to Show input options in the shelf. This will add buttons to your shelf for easy switching.
Under Input Methods click Add Input Method.
Search for the input method needed for your course by typing in the search box. Select the keyboard specified below and then click Add.
French Keyboard for French I - French IV
German Keyboard for German I - German II
Japanese input (for US Keyboard) for Japanese I - Japanese II
Spanish Keyboard for Spanish I - Spanish IV
You can now change keyboards from the option in the shelf by clicking on the keyboard you need to use.
