Vivosmart HR

Your Vivosmart HR must be paired directly through the Garmin Connect™ Mobile app, instead of from the Bluetooth®settings on your smartphone.

  1. From the app store on your smartphone, install and open the Garmin Connect Mobile app.

  2. Hold the device key to turn on the device.

  3. Press the device key to view the menu, and select

    Pair Smartphone to manually enter pairing mode.

  4. Select an option to add your device to your Garmin Connect account:

    • Follow the on-screen instructions. DO NOT create your own account. You will sign-in using the account on the Garmin box provided.

      • example username: garmin123@spsmail.org

      • example password: Listed on Garmin box. (case sensitive)

    • If unable to pair, navigate to the Garmin Connect Mobile app, from the settings menu, select Garmin Devices > Add Device, and follow on-screen instructions.

After you pair successfully, a message appears, and your device syncs automatically with your smartphone.
In order to use the Garmin Connect Mobile app, your mobile device must meet the following minimum requirements:
Android Requirements:

  • 4.4 OS or Later

  • Bluetooth 4.0 or Later

The Android mobile operating system is used by many different manufacturers across the world. Garmin makes a concerted effort to ensure full compatibility with the most popular mobile devices.
Apple Requirements:

  • iOS or Later

  • Compatible with iPhone, iPad, iPod touch

  1. Enable Bluetooth wireless technology on your smartphone.

  2. On your smartphone, open the Garmin Connect™ Mobile app, choose sign in.

  3. Check both Legal Agreements

  4. Click next.

  5. Sign-in using the account on the Garmin box provided. DO NOT create your own account.

    • example username: garmin01@sps.org

      • Pay attention to what email/username is on your box.

    • example password: Garmin01

  6. Browse compatible devices

  7. Click Vivo

  8. Select "Vivosmart3"

  9. On your device, hold the touchscreen to view the menu, and select the gear icon and then the Bluetooth phone.

  10. Click Pair Now or Show Me How to Pair to enter pairing mode.

  11. Enter 6 digit code displayed on Garmin device

  12. Follow directions in Garmin Connect app to set personal preferences

  6. Select device "Vivosmart 4"

  7. On your smartphone, open the Garmin Connect™ Mobile app, select three lines or the three dots, and select Garmin Devices > Add Device to enter pairing mode.

  8. On your device, tap the button to view the menu, and select the Bluetooth phone and then the syncing icon with two arrows chasing each other.

  9. Click Pair Now or Show Me How to Pair to enter pairing mode.

  10. Enter 6 digit code displayed on Garmin device

  11. Follow directions in Garmin Connect app to set personal preferences

Syncing Workout Data with a SmartPhone

After you have paired your device it will periodically sync data with the Garmin Connect Mobile app automatically. You can also manually sync your data at any time.

  1. Bring the device near your smartphone.

  2. Open the Garmin Connect Mobile app.

    • Tip: The app can be open or running in the background.

  3. Select the

    icon.

  4. Wait while your data syncs.

  5. View your current data in the Garmin Connect Mobile app.


Syncing Workout Data with a Computer

Before you can sync your data with the Garmin Connect™ application on your computer, you must install the Garmin Express™ application.

  1. Connect the device to your computer using the USB cable.

  2. Open the Garmin Express application.** (see note below)

  3. Follow the on-screen instructions. DO NOT create your own account. You will sign-in using the account on the Garmin box provided.

  4. View your data on your Garmin Connect account.

**Note: The Garmin Express application is not compatible with Chromebooks; therefore, you will be unable to sync your Garmin watch with a Chromebook. If you do not have a smartphone to sync your workout data, contact your school's library or your counselor to request an HP Computer.
