Critiquing a Video (Peer Review)

If your instructor wants you to critique your own video or give feedback on your peers' videos, here is how to do it.

Enter the playback screen by clicking the video's thumbnail.

You will see the media play on the left (or a black screen if it is a Live Event) and a feedback panel on the right.

Choose the type of feedback you want to give by selecting it from the Feedback Toolbar at the bottom of the feedback panel.  (Text comments are selected by default.)

Follow the steps for your preferred feedback type:

Text Comment - Begin typing in the comment box on the lower right. The video will stop and the comment will be saved to the appropriate spot on the timeline when you hit Enter.

End Note - End Notes are longer, final comments that allow you to summarize your observations. You can enter up to 2,000 characters. They will appear at the end of the comment list in the feedback panel.

Once you finish leaving feedback,  Click "Done" in the upper right-hand corner.

Viewing Your Peers’ Feedback

After your instructor or peers have left feedback on your video, you can follow the steps here to review it.

Play your video by clicking its thumbnail. You'll see any posted comments in the feedback panel on the right-hand side.

You can see the time each comment was made and, during playback, the comments will display at the bottom of the video panel.

If you want to review a specific comment, click on the comment in the feedback panel and the video will begin playing 5 seconds before the comment was made.  (We do this so you can see the context.)

To reply to a comment that was made on your video, you can hover over the comment and press the "Reply" button.
