Student Instructions - MackinVIA

Logging In

To access your book(s), log in to MackinVIA.

The first time you access this site, you need to complete the following steps:

  1. In the "School/Library" field, enter launch.

  2. Select "Springfield LAUNCH School" from the list.

  1. Enter your Launch Student ID # for the User ID.

  2. Enter launchbooks for the password.

  3. Once you are logged in, search for the book assigned to you in your class.

  4. Select the "Checkout" button.

NOTE: Due to limited licensing, please only check out the book(s) required for your class.

MackinVIA’s Text-to-Speech controls

  1. Find the book you want to read/listen to.

  2. Select “Read Now.”

  3. Then select anywhere in the blank space, and additional menus will appear.

  4. On the bottom menu, select the sideways triangle(Show Text-to-Speech Controls).

    Menu buttons display a sideways triangle, an open book, and an uppercase and lower case letter a.

     

  5. The menu will change.

    Menu buttons display a sideways triangle, a circle with diagonal line, a drop down option with 1x, and a drop down with David - English (United States).

     

  6. You’ll be able to change the speed and the “speaker.”

  7. Then, to begin, select the sideways triangle(Play/Pause) again.
