You will be given access to Microsoft 365 for this course to explore the word processing and data organization programs. Your Microsoft 365 access will be given StudentID#@r12mail.sps.org and MS365office!. This website will have all the necessary files and software you need for your course.

 

Example:

Student: John Doe, Student ID 123456

Office365 login: 123456@r12mail.sps.org

Office365 Password: MS365office!

Logging into Microsoft Office365 Online Version

Navigate to the O365 Login Page. You can also access O365 by clicking the Microsoft O365 Login link from the left-hand navigation menu in your Canvas course.

  1. Enter your StudentID@r12mail.sps.org and MS365office!.

  2. Now you are in Office 365 and you can access all the Microsoft Products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint Outlook, OneNote, OneDrive, etc.)

Saving your Office 365 Document

Click File on the left-hand side

 

If you have never saved before you will need to click Save As, then click Save As again.

Name the document by typing the name in the box and click Save.

If you have saved the document previously you don’t need to save it again as Microsoft saves it for you.

Sharing/Submitting Assignments from Office 365 to Canvas

  1. When you have a document open click the share button in the top right-hand corner.

  2. A box will appear and you need to click Copy Link.

Then you will click Copy on the next window.

Go back to your Canvas Page and click Submit Assignment at the top of the Canvas page.

 

Then go to the bottom of the Canvas Page and click the Website URL and paste the link. When done click Submit Assignment.

You know the document was submitted when you see this on the top left of your canvas page.

 

Adding Data Files

  1. Go to Data Files above and click the download button.

  2. Then go to your Microsoft 365 page and click "Upload and Open" on the right-hand side.

  3. Find your downloaded file from the Data Files and click open. Office will download the file and open it.

  4. Go to the Home Tab and click “Reuse files”, and Word will save the files so you can use them in any other Word Doc.

  5. Then go to the document you want to add the files and go to the Insert Tab and click “Reuse Files” and then find the Document with the file name of the data file you just added and click on it.

  6. Next, you will be able to click the plus sign to add the pieces of the document you want to add. The information will appear where your cursor is in the document you are working on.

  1. In Office 365 click on Word on the left-hand side.

  2. Click on “more templates” on the right side.

  3. Then scroll to the bottom of the page and click on “explore more templates”

  4. Then at the top of the next page click on “Search” at the top-right menu.

  5. Next type in the name of the template you are looking for.

  6. When the page loads the template you are searching for should be at the top. Click on it to open it.

  7. To use the template either click download or edit in the browser depending on how you are trying to use it.
