Student Instructions - Duolingo

Follow these steps:

• Navigate to Duolingo.com

• Select the Get Started button.

• Select the language you will be learning in your course. Answer the survey questions that follow. When you are prompted to pick your daily goal, pick any option.

• For the “Choose your path” prompt, select "Learning [Language] for the First Time" and answer the questions about your familiarity with the selected language. 

• Once you answer your questions, you will be prompted to create a profile. Make sure to use your Launch/SPS Google account

  • Example:

    • 123456@sps.org

    • ab01012001!

• Join and begin practicing your language skills.

For Spanish I:

Now, navigate to the number next to the circle icon to display the drop-down menu.

• Go to settings and add your first and last name to the username area, no spaces allowed.

  • Do not add a nickname

• You may add a school appropriate picture if you choose.

A weekly report of how much you’ve done will be sent to your teacher.

Note: You must join your class for your teacher to see your progress. Follow these steps:

• Go to settings and click Progress Sharing on the right side of the screen.

• Note: You will receive your class code from your online instructor. If you have not yet received your code, check the course announcements or send a Canvas inbox message to your instructor.

For Spanish II:

You will take screenshots of your Duolingo progress to complete your assignments; you will not have a class code.
