Discovery Education - Using the Dynamic Geometry Tool

The Dynamic Geometry Tool is a resource located within Discovery Education that allows you to perform basic geometry functions. This means you can draw and label shapes, create lines, and measure angles.

 

Select tool - Select or drag objects.

 

Point tool - Construct points.

 

Line Tool - Construct straight objects. Can create a line, ray, or segment.

 

Shape Tool - Construct shapes. Can create isosceles triangles, equilateral triangles, rectangles, squares, parallelograms, pentagons, and hexagons.

 

Conics Tool - Constructs conics. Can create circles, ellipse, parabolas, and hyperbolas.

 

Polygon Tool - Construct polygons. Can click point to point to create polygonal shapes.

Insert Text - Inserts text letters and numbers.

 

Marker Tool - Free-hand draw with a marker. Can choose between thin pencil and thick marker.

 

Insert Image Tool - Inserts an image from Discovery Education saved images.

Snapshot Tool - Allows you to save the image to your computer.

Enter a filename then click the Download button to save the file to your computer.
