Submitting a Google Assignment

The Launch program heavily utilizes the Google Suite applications to complete course work. Follow the instructions below to link Canvas with your Google Drive account so you can easily submit Google items in your assignments.

Authorizing Google Drive

In order to link and easily submit items directly from Google Drive you will first need to authorize your Google drive in Canvas. Start by clicking your portrait icon in top left corner of Canvas then clicking the Settings link.

Under the Web Services section and Other Services, click the Google Drive button.

Confirm the authorization for Google Drive access by clicking the Authorize Google Drive Access button.

Proceed to sign in with your Launch Google account (ID#@sps.org). If you do not know your Launch @sps.org Google account information please contact support@fueledbylaunch.com.

Submitting a Google Doc

Click the Submit Assignment button in the top right corner of your Canvas assignment.

Click the Google Doc or Google Drive tab [1] to display a list of files from your Google Drive. Click the name of the file [2], then click the Submit Assignment button [3].

Downloading as PDF and Submitting

Sometimes the Google Slides or other Google Drive files may be grayed out for you to select. An alternative submission method is to download your file as a PDF file and submit the PDF to Canvas.

Open the slides, doc, drawing, or other various file you are trying to submit. Click File [1], then go down to the option to Download [2]. Select the option PDF [3]. This will start the download process.

Once you have the file downloaded you can use the File Upload option on Canvas to submit the assignment. You can also upload the PDF file to your Google Drive and submit the file via a shareable link or using the Google Drive tab.
